Introduction to Navigation Class

Hiking on trails is a lot of fun but getting lost is not! Join us and pick up a few basic navigation skills that might help you stay on track during your spring and summer adventures!

This class will cover the following:
• Introduction to map reading and map key interpretations
• Introduction to understanding the compass including; declination and true north vs. magnetic north
• Taking a compass bearing
• Brief description of GPS function.

Space is limited, please arrive early. Bring your own compass for a hands-on experience as limited compasses will be available for use.

The first 50 people to arrive will receive a complimentary Green Trails Map and will be entered in the contest and one lucky person will win this book written by Craig Romano, Day Hiking, Olympic Peninsula.
